It has recently been reported that Walt Disney Resorts will ban the use of selfie sticks inside their parks. According to one of their spokespersons, the use of these sticks have become a safety issue for both the staff and its guests.
The company first started putting up signs that says “NO SELFIE STICKS” in certain areas of their resorts, but safety concerns still continued to grow. Guests will soon be notified before entering the parks about this new policy. They will have to either leave the sticks in their car or hotel room, or they can leave it with the attendant during the routine bag checks at the park’s entrance, which can be picked up after their visit.
Disneyworld in Orlando will start implementing this policy on Tuesday, while Disneyland Resort in California will start it on June 30th. The parks located in Hong Kong and Paris will also impose this policy starting on July 1st.
Any word on why they are unsafe? Just curious…I’m trying to think of how and coming up with nothing
